Terms & Conditions
All goods supplied by Unique Architectural Salvage are sold subject to the following Terms and Conditions:
Condition, Age and Dimensions
Our goods are mostly reclaimed or salvaged, and while we provide information about the general condition and description of items we supply, the customer must satisfy themselves that the goods are suitable for their intended purpose.
The age and provenance of any item quoted is an approximation only, based on our existing knowledge, and does not constitute a guarantee. All goods are “sold as seen” and we assume no responsibility for loss or damage resulting from their use. Metrics including dimensions, areas, volumes or weights are approximate and may be given in metric or imperial. Please contact us with any queries or specific requirements before purchase.
Customisation
We normally require payment in full for goods before undertaking any customisation or alterations. Customised goods are not accepted for return.
Warranties
Subject to the appropriate statutory limitations, no condition is made or to be implied, nor is any warranty given or to be implied, as to the quality, life, wear or suitability of any goods supplied.
Payment, Pricing and Rights
Payment including VAT must be made in full before collection or delivery.
We accept most debit and credit cards, or can arrange direct bank transfer, cheques or cash on request, at our discretion. Cheques must be cleared in full before goods are dispatched. Unique Architectural Salvage reserve the right to refuse certain types of payment. Goods remain the property of Unique Architectural Salvage until payment has been received in full.
All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling and may vary without notice. Any currency conversion charges will be borne by the purchaser.
VAT
Prices include VAT at 20% unless otherwise indicated. Some goods may be sold under the Margin Scheme for Second-hand Goods, in which case the purchaser cannot reclaim the VAT. This will be indicated on the invoice. For overseas purchases, please provide relevant taxation certificates for the country.
Reserving Goods
In some circumstances we may reserve goods without deposit upon application, but reserve the right to refuse such requests. We also retain the right to advertise and sell the item on reserve without notice. Goods may be reserved with a deposit and payment terms agreed which must be honoured by the customer, else the deposit will be forfeit.
Storage
Usually goods must be collected or delivered upon payment, but we may at our discretion agree to store items after purchase for an agreed length of time, after which we reserve the right to charge storage. While we will make every endeavour to keep these items securely, Unique Architectural Salvage is not responsible for damage or theft and the purchaser, as the owner, assumes the risk.
Delivery
Delivery charges usually apply, please request a quote. We endeavour to deliver to the kerb or door of the customer, or other location as agreed, but cannot guarantee access. Delivery does not include unpacking, moving the goods once offloaded or any other handling unless previously agreed. Unique Architectural Salvage is not liable for damage or loss once goods have been offloaded. The purchaser is responsible for supplying adequate and safe labour and facilities for moving goods once offloaded. For larger goods, we may request that the purchaser arranges labour and facilities for offloading, and accept no responsibility for damage or loss in that instance.
We are also not responsible for any loss or damage resulting in delay to delivery. Delivery times and dates quoted do not represent a contract and are subject to change at any time. In the event we cannot supply or deliver the goods ordered, we undertake to refund any money paid in respect of such goods, but otherwise accept no liability.
Transit, Receipt, Inspection and Loss
We endeavour to ensure that all goods are packed carefully and securely, but all deliveries must be inspected on receipt by the purchaser and Unique Architectural Salvage must be notified of any issues at time of delivery. Goods may be refused at that time by the purchaser but thereafter Unique Architectural Salvage will not be responsible for damage reported, so we ask purchasers to inspect goods before accepting delivery. Items that cannot be insured for carriage, such as glass or other fragile goods, are delivered at the purchaser’s risk.
We accept no responsibility for any consequential or indirect loss or subsequent costs arising from the use of new or reclaimed materials supplied by Unique Architectural Salvage.
Returns
The vast majority of the goods we sell are reclaimed, salvaged or antique. It is the customers sole responsibility to satisfy themselves that the condition, quality, and function of any goods are suitable for the purpose intended at the time of purchase. Items sold online are subject to a 14 day cancellation or refund policy as per statutory rights. Items may be refused for return if they have been installed, used or altered. The purchaser is responsible for delivery fees when returning goods.
